Jesus grew up in a part of the World where water was not only scarce, but at a premium. Water
was Life. We are often spoiled in this era of modern plumbing. We turn a spigot and out flows copious amounts of not just
safe water, but most often, crystal clear water.
We let it run while we walk around the bathroom. We let it run while we go find the next vegetable
to wash off for dinner. We shower for long periods just for the shear joy of it. It is understandable that something that
seems so effortless should be taken for granted.
Our perception of water rationing; if you live in an area with lower rainfall; is often an argument
about which day you get to water your yard. We cringe when our lawns grow brown during the Summer. Our flowers get a bit wilty.
We get all bent out of shape if we can not wash our car every weekend.
In Jesus’ World every drop was precious. Bathing was a ritual. It took on Spiritual Weight
to be able to get wet all over your body. Full immersion was saved for strictly Ritual purification. They probably thought
the Romans with their frequent baths were decadent hedonists, and many were.
Desert Wars were and still are fought over well ownership, which is strictly held within families.
Here in the US there were Range Wars over Water access. Drinkable Water was and still is a priceless commodity in many parts
of the World today. Fresh drinkable water is a shrinking resource all over the World. More Judicial use of this water is definitely
called for. Only time will tell if we can learn from our past concerning the future regarding water, and it’s scarcity.
A Thirsty Heart must be viewed not with our modern access to clean water, but through Jesus’
eyes. He recognized the value of the imagery when he used water as his symbolism. Water would be seen with the same awe by
everyone he spoke with. They too would have seen it as being worth more than Gold.
What is great food without a satisfying drink to match it? Jesus depicted the lessons he shared
as a Spring from his mouth. The Verses from the RGoT I’ll share later are my reference material. The concept is magnificent.
I also think this is beautiful imagery.
When I envision The Spring from his Mouth, I think of this simple garden fountain. The water is
cool, crisp, and clean. It glitters in the light coming from itself. The water bubbles up from it’s unseen depths through
a hole in the apex of the rock.
It is not flashy, there are no multiple spouts. It does not vary it’s rate to shoot towards
the sky in time to some musical score. The light is bright and comforting. It does not change colors for show. The light is
steady, calming, healing and eternal. The water seems to laugh with joy as it races over the edge of the fountains edge.
All who drink here will be satisfied. Any burning Thirst in their throat of fear or doubt will
be rinsed away. Their Hearts will be filled. They will Thirst no more. I see the healing that can come from this Thirst being
quenched. The water is Jesus’ words. The comfort comes from knowing you are loved. The Healing radiates from the Knowledge
that you are a Child of God.
Jesus even asks us to pass the water on to others. We can act in Jesus’ stead to become
more like him in our thoughts, actions and words. We can become conduits carrying the water too. We also can become healers,
comforters, and sweeping away fear.
Here are the Verses that I’m speaking about. The second one is an excerpt from the Verse
13 because it covers several different subjects. The third Verse is about drinking from a different source, and it’s
repercussions.
RGoT Verse 108 Jesus said, “A person who satisfied their thirst from the Spring of my Mouth
will become more like me. The things that have been hidden will be Lighted for that person.”
RGoT Verse 13 Jesus acknowledged their answers, “I am all you say and more, but I am not
your Master, but a Servant like you will become when you fully know The One. Because you have freely consumed my knowledge,
you have become drunk from the bubbling Spring, which I have shared. I share what you can understand at this time.”
RGoT Verse 28 Jesus said, “I came to live in the flesh. I came to live as a Man. I found
all people were drunk. I found none of them thirsty. No one was seeking Truth. My Soul cries for the people of Earth. They
are blind in their hearts and do not see anything. They came into the World to learn and become better. The Liar and that
brood empty them. They have become dissipated, stagnant, and self-satisfied. Light will come again because I will light the
way with fire. For the moment they are intoxicated. When they shake off the Wine of this lost life, then they will thirst
again in regret.”
This last Verse is a caution about the source of your drinking. Satan has a really tasty wine
to share. It is pretty and oh so sparkly. It just radiates Carefree Fun.
It is “Free”, like all the products given away by drug dealers. The price is unseen
and often unrecognized because it is paid long after you are a steady customer. You may even support your “habit”
by turning into a Dealer yourself.
How many people would you convince to turn their back on God. I’m sure the whispers from
Satan would be reassuring. They would tell you there is no use in giving anything away when you can make a profit. Satan will
be very obliging in pointing out other Children of God who are “Just not having any fun. Unfortunately the only one
who will profit is Satan. They say Misery Loves Company. This is the ultimate Misery.
The Drink of Satan is filled with the selfish quest to get your own piece of the pie. You may
think it is just you that gets hurt. You are wrong, indulging every selfish whim always hurts more than you. The World is
filled with self-destructive people.
The Wine of Satan is very good at making you forget. Everyone is here to help someone. Everyone
is here to learn something, maybe a hand full of things. How would you feel if it came time to “give your report”
to God about your lessons; only to have missed out on them. If you were trying to learn a lesson to better yourself in a Spiritual
way, did that World Hangover keep you from even “Going to Class”.
The Bubbling Spring of Jesus’ Teachings is my drink of choice. There is nothing like a big
glass of cool water to wash away a huge hangover. It is never too late to start going back to class. Having fun does not have
to mean excess in whatever your chosen pastime is. Moderation is the key in everything. There are people who will follow your
lead if you start showing self-control. I want all of you to be the best you can be, no matter when you start. It’s
a clean blackboard, are you ready to go back to school? I have lots to learn too, I’ll meet you there.
God Bless the Whole World, No Exceptions.
